Advisor Shin Gi-nam is a lawyer and a four-term member of the National Assembly (15th, 16th, 17th, and 19th), having served as the first spokesperson for the New Politics National Conference, chairman of the policy coordination committee for the Millennium Democratic Party, chairman of the National Assembly's Political Reform Committee, and chairman of the Open Our Party. He led major welfare policies including the National Pension, the division of medical services, and health insurance, as well as cultural policies aimed at making Korea a cultural advanced nation.
As a member of the National Assembly's standing committee on Culture, Sports and Tourism, he led major legislation including the broadcasting law, library law, and basic law on the advancement of the cultural industry. He also served as a member of the Environment and Labor Committee and the Land and Transportation Committee, handling various responsibilities related to the environment, labor, and land development, and as the chairman of the Information Committee, he led reforms of the National Intelligence Service. Subsequently, he served as the president of the Korean Library Association and as the chairman of the National Library Committee under the President, overseeing national library policies.
Currently, based on his extensive experience through long-term legislative activities and his expertise as a lawyer, he is providing advisory services in various fields such as construction, land development, environment, labor, culture, and welfare.
